STATE SPLIT WITH OPTIONAL SCANNER-TOUCH SCREEN VOTING SYSTEMS

(10/21/2005)
Calhoun joined about half of WV counties in using the optical scan/paper ballot system of voting, while the rest went with the electronic touch screen system.

One county, Wyoming, stuck with strictly paper ballots and hand-counting.

The voting systems will go into effect on January 1.
