ONE DEAD, TWO SEVERELY BURNED AT TYLER RIG

One person is dead and two workers were severely burned after an explosion at an oil drilling operation in Tyler County.

The cause of the explosion is unknown.

The names of the victims have not been released.

A contractor for St. Marys-based Sancho Oil and Gas was cementing a seven-inch pipe when there was an explosion and fire.

Sancho President Loren Bagley says the pipe had been set to a depth of two-thousand feet.

The incident is being investigated by state and local police, the state Fire Marshal's Office and the Department of Environmental Protection.
