CALHOUN MAN RECEIVES SECOND LIFE SENTENCE

(10/10/2005)
A former Calhoun resident has been sentenced to a second life-term for murder, after slaying two Roane County men.

Roger Eric Jones, 33, of Chloe, was sentenced last week to life without parole for the murder of 83-year-old Oral "Sam" Jett, who was slain along a rural road near Amma in 2003.

Jones had earlier plead guilty to the second-degree murder of Arnoldsburg Road resident John Moorehead, who was murdered in December, 2002.

Judge David Nibert ordered that the sentences run consecutively.
