CMS VOLLEYBALL HOSTS WIRT

The CMS volleyball team hosted Wirt County Middle School Tuesday evening at Mt. Zion.

The B team roared off to strong start by besting the tigers 25-17; however, Wirt responded by defeating Calhoun 20-25 and 16-25 to win the B match.

Leading the team in service points was Rochelle Gerwig with 15 points and 6 aces.

Others scoring service points were: Samantha Fulks with 4 pts and 1 ace, Katie Collins with 3 pts, Brook Green with 3 pts and 1 ace, Jordan Mace with 3 pts and 2 aces and Kenzie Laughlin with 1 pt. Samantha Fulks was 3/5 setting and Brook Green was 1/1.

The A team picked up the match win in the best 2 out 3 extremely close games 24-26, 26-24, and 25-22.

The A team was led in service points by Ashley Houchin with 11 points and 3 aces. She was followed by Amber Wilford and Kayla Roberts each with 7 points and 1 ace, Savannah Church with 6 points and 2 aces, Michelle Hall with 5 points and 1 ace and Bridgett Carter with 4 points.

Kayla Roberts led the team in setting 15 out of 16 attempts and Savannah Church was 5 for 8.

From the attack line, Ashley Houchin was 8 of 10, Amber Wilford was 3 of 5, Bridgett Carter was 2 of 3 and Michelle Hall was 2 for 2.

The team travels to Spencer Thursday evening to play Spencer Middle and to Glenville on Monday.
