Thirty-nine Calhoun residents, mostly seniors, took the Washington, D.C. tour via bus last week, a two-nighter, with the group returning home Saturday. The chartered bus event was sponsored by the local Senior Center (CCCOA).

Some members of the group described the trip as "rewarding, while others said it was their first visit to D. C. and were grateful for the opportunity.

Vietnam War Memorial usually brings tears to the eyes of visitors when they walk toward the wall, said Ron Hosey.

"The bus driver was a former D.C. fireman and he knew his way around," said Ritchie.
