ROUND TWO: HIGH GASOLINE PRICES

(09/23/2005)
Stay tuned for round two of high gasoline prices.

The worst-case prediction regarding gas prices spiking following Hurricane Rita is $5 a gallon.

Three weeks ago, many thought they'd seen the gas price peak, but now officials say Hurricane Rita could cause some major destruction, especially when it comes to the oil business and your car's tank.

Energy watchers think it could spike over three dollars again, but it depends on how bad the refineries are hit in the Houston and Galveston area.

Prices will likely start climbing sometime next week.

Natural gas users are already warned that prices are likely to increase up to 70% for winter heating.
