BOARD WORKING ON FILLING VACANCIES - Board Self-Assessment Completed

The Board of Education met at 4:00 p.m. yesterday in a work session regarding Board Self-Assessment and Goal Setting for the Superintendent and Board of Education with the session ending at 6:45 p.m.

Board member Don Harris reported on the August 19, 2005 CGCC meeting.

Greg Cartwright reported on the Universal Pre-K program and the status of Average Yearly Progress (AYP), saying all county schools meet the standards.

Donnie Pitts reported to the board regarding high transportation costs.

The board approved the following volunteer agreements: Brenda Ball - CMHS, Gaylen Duskey - CMHS, Betty Ellison - CMHS, Bruce Jarrell - Arnoldsburg, Stanley Little - CMHS, Tammy Little - CMHS, Arlis Miller - Pleasant Hill, Rosenna Miller - Pleasant Hill, Sheryl Prusack - CMHS.

An out-of-state conference request was approved for Out of Terry Goodnight, National Tech Prep Conference,Orlando, Florida.

Home-School requests 2005-2006: Deanna English - Cedar English (grade 9); Karen McKown - Douglas Marks (grade 6); Mark Myers - Lauren Randall-Myers (grade 11); JoAnn Westfall - Sabrina Kerby (grade 11).

Student transfers approved: Darrenger Fluharty (grade 6) - from Ritchie County; Jasmine Fluharty (grade 3) - from Ritchie County; Randy Fluharty (grade 8) - from Ritchie County; Dustin Metheney (grade 3) - to Clay County; Jordan Metheney (grade 5) - to Clay County; Tara Metheney (K) - to Clay County.

An early release for a half-day was approved for Felicia Neal.

A contract was given to George Damous for psychological services.
