Darius Wayne Cunningham, 59 - Duck, Clay County

Darius Wayne Cunningham, 59, of Duck, Clay County, West Virginia, passed away September 17, 2005 at Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Gassaway.

Born in Braxton County, he was a son of Letha Cunningham of Duck and the late John Holly Cunningham.

He was a US Army Veteran of Viet Nam, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was a former tire builder for Uniroyal, BF Goodrich and Michelan and attended the Hallburg Baptist Church at Hallburg. He was also a member of the Viet Nam Combat Group of Charleston, WV.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Joan K, Cunningham; two daughters, Dana Collins and her husband David, and Amy Cunningham all of Akron, Ohio; four brothers, Roger Cunningham of Akron, Leslie Cunningham and his wife Julie of Ravenna, Ohio, Larry Cunningham of Duck, and Jerry Cunningham and his wife Drema of Hartsville, Ohio; one grandson, Jackson Collins and his father-in-law, Henry Hahn of Akron.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Cunningham.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 22 at the Cunningham Cemetery on Buck Fork with Rev. Michael Jackson officiating and military graveside rites.

Friends may call at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
