Doris Jean Kelley, 78 - Spencer

Doris Jean Kelley, 78, of Spencer, died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at home after an extended illness. She was born August 6, 1928, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Doyle and Rita King Miller. She was a homemaker and former veterinary assistant. Survivors include her husband, Mayford Kelley; daughter, Doris Darlene Workman, of Spencer; son, Luke Kelley, of Spencer; four grandchildren, Mike Kelley of Charlotte, NC, Scott Kelley of Huntington, WV, Jeanette Shamblin of Spencer, and Jennifer Hershberger of Charlotte, NC; and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one grandson, Tim Kelley; two brothers, Herbert Miller and Jim Miller; and one sister, Mary Kelley. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Danny Whited officiating.
