The CMS Volleyball team was defeated by Clay County Middle at Clay last
Tuesday evening.
The B team dropped straight games to Clay 25-9 and
25-12. B team was led in service points by Karissa Reip with 3 points and 1 ace
and Katie Collins with 3 points.
Also scoring were Rochelle Gerwig 2 points
and 1 ace, Kenzie Laughlin 1 point, and Jordan Mace with 1 point.
The A team also dropped straight games to Clay by a score of 25-22 and
25-15.
Calhoun A was led in service points by Kayla Roberts with 9 points and 6 aces
and Ashley Houchin with 7 points and 6 aces.
Also scoring for A were: Amber
Wilford with 4 points and 1 ace, and Bridget Carter with 2 points and 2 aces.
The CMS Volleyball team picked up wins against conference rival Braxton
County Middle at home on Sept. 15.
The B team won their first match of the
season defeating Braxton B 25-14 and 25-19.
B Team was led in service points by
Katie Collins with 7 points and 3 aces and Kenzie Laughlin with 6 pts and 1
ace.
Also scoring were: Karissa Reip 3 pts, Kayla Cottrell 3 pts, Jordan Mace
3 pts, Rochelle Gerwig 2 pts, and Samantha Fulk with 1 pt.
The A team picked up their second match win of the season by defeating
Braxton 17-25, 25-16 and 25-21.
Leading A team with service points was Bridget
Carter with 11 pts and 3 aces and Amber Wilford with 9 pts and 4 aces. Also
scoring for A: Kayla Roberts with 7 pts and 1 ace, Michelle Hall with 7 pts
and 3 aces and Ashley Houchin with 3 pts.
Savannah Church led the setting
attack for A by going 6/6. Kayla Roberts was 5/5 and Amber Wilford was 1/1.
Ashley Houchin led the team in attacks for kills by going 5/5. Amber Wilford was
2/2, Kayla Roberts was 1/1 and Michelle Hall was 1 for 2.
Both squads are in action again Monday evening when they host Clay Middle
at 6:00 in the CMS Gymnasium.
