CALHOUN WOMAN RECEIVES PROBATION FOR PART IN MURDERS

(09/17/2005)
A Calhoun woman has been placed on probation after being an accessory for her part in two Roane county murders.

Jamie Dawn Jarvis, 23, of Chloe was sentenced this week, more than two years after her boyfriend, Roger Eric Jones, murdered John Moorehead and Oral "Sam" Jett at two separate locations in Roane County.

Jarvis was originally charged with first degree murder, malicious wounding and other offenses.

Jarvis provided testimony against her boyfriend, and has been free on bond after serving four months in jail.

Judge David Nibert sentenced Jarvis to two years in prison, but then suspended the sentence.

She has been placed on five years probation, which include 30 hours of community service and 30 hours of litter pick-up for each probationary year.

Jones, 33, is now serving a life sentence for Jett's murder, and is waiting to be sentenced for the Moorehead murder.
