Calhoun Middle School Volleyball team traveled to Elizabeth on
September 12. The "A" won their first match of the 2005 season defeating
a strong
Wirt County Middle School team in the best two out of three games 25-20,
17-25,
and 25-23.
Lead service scorer for Calhoun "A" was Savannah Church with
11
points and 5 aces. She was followed by Ashley Houchin with 10 points and
4
aces and Bridget Carter with 10 points and 3 aces. Also scoring for
Calhoun "A"
was Kayla Roberts with 3 points and 1 ace; Michelle Hall with 2 points;
and
Amber Wilford with 1 point.
Setting for Calhoun "A", Kayla Roberts was 7 for 8 and Savannah Church
was 2
for 3.
At the attack line Calhoun "A" was lead by Amber Wilford 4/4,
Michelle Hall 3/3,
Bridget Carter 2/3, Ashley Houchin 1/1 and Savannah Church 1/1.
Calhoun "B" won one game of the best two of three series losing the
match
to Wirt 12-25, 25-10, and 12-25. They were lead by Rochelle Gerwig with

service points and 7 aces. Also scoring for Calhoun "B" was Samantha
Fulks
with 3 points, Karissa Reip with 2 points, and Kenzie Laughlin with 1
point.
