DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP WILL MEET TUESDAY

(09/14/2005)
Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center is pleased to announce that Marie Gravely, Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator, will be speaking at the September Diabetes Support Group meeting. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 6 p.m. in the Education Room at MHHCC.

Ms. Gravely will be discussing the importance of portion control. She states that just because an individual is diabetic, it does not mean they are tied down to a life of bland, sugar-free food. Diabetics can freely enjoy a wide variety of their favorite foods if they practice proper food portioning and make wise choices.

MHHCC would like to say welcome to all the new members of the Diabetic Support Group. The meeting is free to the public and is open to anyone who is a diabetic or has a family member who lives with the disease.

The group is very informal and focused on shared support of living with diabetes. Each meeting, members are provided with current information relating to the topic discussed. Refreshments and door prizes are provided. For more information or to add your name to the member list, please contact Barb McKown, Community Outreach Coordinator at 354-9244, extension 235.
