Bruce Edward "Eddie" Simons, 52 - Spencer

Bruce Edward "Eddie" Simons, 52, of Spencer, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at his home, after a short illness.

He was born June 9, 1953, in Roane County, a son of Ruth Stewart Simons Cox of Spencer and the late Bruce Howard Simons. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Rick Cox and a stepsister, Regina Lawson.

Eddie was an employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways, an Air Force veteran, a 1971 graduate of Spencer High School and a Christian.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Sue Cottrell Simons of Spencer; daughters, Michelle Spears of Reedy and Angie Simons of Murraysville; grandchildren, Alston Spears, Ashlyn Spears and Emerson Simons; stepfather, Dallas O. "Buddy" Cox of Spencer; brother, Stephen Cox of Spencer; stepbrother, Dewayne Cox of Spencer; stepsister, Joyce Miller of Spencer.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, August 27 at 2 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Randy Whited officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service.
