CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS FACE ST MARY'S FOR OPENER

The Calhoun County Cross Country team announced its schedule for the upcoming season, which gets under way with a meet at St. Marys, September 3.

The Red Devils will have a girls team but will only have individuals competing on the boys side. The middle school will have individuals but no complete team.

The girls team will consist of senior Teresa Little, junior Grace Keiffaber and freshmen Anna Sampson, Maria Kisner and Elizabeth Duskey.

On the boys side junior David Lee and freshman Dustin Simmons will represent the Red Devils.

The middle school will have Emily Brady and Danielle Little on the girls side and Tai Clothier and James Keiffaber on the boys side.

According to coach Melinda Fitzwater, students wishing to participate in cross country can sign up at any time but won't be able to participate in any meets until they have completed 14 practice sessions.

Sept. 6 - SOCCR Run at Calhoun
Sept. 13 - Doddridge Invitational
Sept. 17 - Chick-Fil-A Invitational at Mineral Wells
Sept. 24 - Gilmer County Meet at Cedar Creek State Park
Sept. 27 - Ritchie County Meet at Ellensboro
Oct. 4 - TBA
Oct. 11 - Doddridge Middle School Invitational (Middle School Only)
Oct. 13 - LKC at Doddridge
Oct. 20 - Regional Meet at Camp Virgil Tate
