CALHOUN GAS PRICES HIT $2.75 - Time To Ride The LK Bus?

(08/18/2005)
With gasoline prices rising to $2.75 a gallon in Calhoun today, it could be an option for some county residents to consider riding the bus.

The Little Kanawha Bus Company has low-cost charges for local and regional trips, more recently subsidized by a $150,000 Budget Digest grant obtained to operate the transport company.

The buses are air-conditioned.

The company provides services to Roane and Calhoun County.

Riders can access the ride for shopping, visiting or appointments, but special needs are met by calling 354-9043 or 1-866-354-5522.

The buses are wheel-chair accessible, no age limit if child is accompanied by adult.

LK Bus also does charter trips.

Monday - Rt. 5 east and west to Annamoriah and Creston and return.

Tuesday - Rt. 16 to Millstone. Arnoldsburg and West Fork area to Grantsville and return.

Wednesday - Out of area to Parkersburg and return.

Thursday - Rt. 16 north through Pleasant Hill, Nobe, Broomstick, Big Springs to Grantsville and return. Also a Parkersburg run.
