Federal or state officials have yet to make an arrest in the Clay County bomb case, although they have indicated they have a suspect or suspects.

One official said an arrest in pending.

Clay County's Sheriff, Randy "Walking Tall" Holcomb, was reportedly the target of several exploding bombs on August 7th.

Holcomb revealed the threat before regional TV cameras, saying that he wasn't threatened by such things and would redouble his efforts.

Some of the bombs were detonated before they reached the sheriff by a Clay man who was out picking up soda cans.

Holcomb has resumed his aggressive role against crime in the county.

He has declared war on meth lab operators since his election, and carries a small arsenal in the back of his cruiser to deal with Clay County crime.
