CALHOUN WILL GET US SENATE SURPLUS COMPUTERS

(08/15/2005)
Calhoun County will be one of five state schools receiving free Internet-ready computers.

Twenty-five surplus computers are being donated by the the United States Senate, according to Senator Jay Rockefeller D-WV.

Other counties receiving computers include Wirt, Mingo, McDowell and Pendleton.

A recent study at Marshall University says the state is lagging behind with computer access in the state's public schools, not only the low number of computers but the age of the devices.
