MICRO-STORM STRIKES PHILLIPS RUN

(08/12/2005)

A narrow micro-storm swept across Phillips Run near Grantsville Thursday evening, downing trees and branches and leveling gardens.

Grantsville firemen and EMS worker Steve Health said "It was a really powerful wind. It knocked the air conditioner out of my window."

Health said the storm was very brief.

One large tree feel across telephone lines along Rt. 16, and Frontier workers responded to remove the problem from the highway.

On either side of the swath there was no damage, no rain.
