TWO SEPARATE FATAL SHOOTINGS - South Charleston Police are investigating two separate fatal shootings from early Sunday.

Police arrested a suspect identified as Brent Hanselman Sunday afternoon at a motel.

He faces charges in connection with the murder of Gerald Burford, who was shot outside a South Charleston residence.

Police also say Brandon Green was shot this morning outside Club Mystique. Investigators have identified suspects, but haven't released any names yet.

RAVENSWOOD MAN BARRICADES SELF - A Ravenswood man was charged with brandishing after barricading himself in his residence and threatening police with a loaded 16-gauge shotgun last Thursday.

Delbert E. Tackett Sr., 59, of Hutton's Trailer Park barricaded himself following a dispute with neighbors.

Members of the Ravenswood Police Department along with Deputies Chris Metz and Al Mick and P.S. Marion of the Ripley Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, responded to the scene.

Tackett used the shotgun to break out the windows of the home and threatened to kill anyone who tried to enter, according to Ravenswood police Chief Bill Sinnett.

Police then "set up a perimeter" and called in a negotiating team from Charleston.

Sinnett said Tackett's son, Donald "broke the line" of the perimeter and entered the residence on his own without permission.

Sinnet said upon entering the residence, Tackett threatened his son with the shotgun and the two began wrestling for possession of the weapon.

"Donald eventually got the weapon away from his father and tossed it out the front door," he said.

"That's when I gave the signal to move in," the chief said.

Police entered the home and arrested Tackett without further incident.

Tackett was taken to a mental hygiene hearing.

FAIRMONT WOMAN SHOT TO DEATH - Fairmont police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old woman and have a suspect in custody.

Twenty-two-year-old Dayton Scott Lister is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Crystal Peterson.

Peterson's body was found at an apartment building.

Lister was being held in the North Central Regional Jail without bond. There is no word on a possible motive.
