CALHOUN MAN LIFE-FLIGHTED AFTER JEEP STRIKES TREE

A Calhoun man was injured yesterday evening when his Jeep left Rt. 5 west of Creston and crashed into a tree, nearly landing in the Little Kanawha River.

The name of the man has not been released, although he was described to be in his 40s.

He was airlifted by HealthNet to Charleston Area Medical Center.

Wirt Co. EMS responded to the accident with the Elizabeth VFD, along with the Wirt County Sheriff's Department and the State Police.
