CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST FORMER GRANTSVILLE FIREMEN

(08/02/2005)
Charges have been brought against a Grantsville volunteer fireman who had resigned by Police Chief Ron Gordon. Steve Husk allegedly turned in his equipment and was no longer a member of the fire department.

Husk has been charged with unlawfully and intentionally taking a fire truck and responding to a fire alarm call at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, several weeks after he had resigned.

The complaint said Husk was told by Fire Chief Dave Johnson that he was not to be in a truck after he resigned from Station 100.

Husk reportedly tendered his resignation during an official meeting of the department.

Chief Gordon reported in the complaint, that Husk's "answer to that was, who is going to stop me."

The complaint did not specify which charge would be brought against Husk for the misdemeanor, but there were indications it might be joyriding.

More serious charges could be filed related to the incident.
