| Alvin Taylor, 79, of Spencer, died Friday, July 29, 2005, in Ocoee, FL, after an extended illness.
He was born June 8, 1926, in Spencer a son of the late Ross Simmons and Madge Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ella Virginia Taylor in 1952.
Al was a retired employee of Columbia Gas Company, retired owner of Taylor's Upholstery and Fabric Shop and Taylor's Greenhouse both of Spencer. He attended the Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Ocoee, FL and the St. John's United Methodist Church, Spencer.
Survivors include his wife, Nadene Smith Taylor; one daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Robert Bates of Ocoee, FL; one sister, Betty Smith of Bransonville, NY; two grandchildren, Melissa McIntyre of Ocoee, FL and Michael McIntyre and his wife, Beth of Parkersburg; one great grandson, Nathan McIntyre of Parkersburg.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. G. David Calvert officiating. Burial will be in the Hodam Cemetery, Spencer.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. on Friday.
