| Mary Irene Straughn Cummings Maloney, 83, of Spencer, West Virginia passed away Wednesday, the 27th of July 2005, in the Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.
She was born the 7th of February 1922, the daughter of the late Ella J.P. Howery and Howard "Ashby" Straughan of Winefred Junction, Kanawha County. When last able, she attended Egypt Chapel Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Terry Cummings and Mike Maloney both of Spencer; three grandchildren, Randy Knarr of Golden's Bridge, NY, Julie O'Neal and Rob Knarr both of Morgantown; two great grandchildren, Travis and Adrianna O'Neal of Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Cummings in 1950 and her second husband, Gerard "Scottie" Maloney in 1976.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 29 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jack Roberts and the Rev. Donald Cottrill, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday.
