His small intestine transplant was successful after nearly 7 hours of surgery.

A family spokesperson said "The organs fit and his body was accepting them. He was even getting his color back and had started waking up, starting to open his eyes.

Kason is expected to have an extended stay at the hospital, maybe four months.

The family and family friends continue to request prayer for the infant.
