CRAWFORD'S HAVE EARLY CALHOUN HISTORY - William And His Pet Rooster

Many of the Crawfords attending yesterday's reunion at Arnoldsburg are descendants of William Crawford (1849-1941), shown here with his pet rooster on Mt. Zion Ridge in the 1930s, his wife was Sarah Grandon Crawford (1848-1914) - Photo courtesy of Shirley Mace Dare Crawford's only living sister, Ursley Crawford Powell of Barberton, OH Dare and his wife Greta (Dillon) now deceased, lived on Crummies Creek for 50 years. It was there that they raised six children, Carolyn, Stanley, Sandra, Wm. David, Dennis and Sharon. Dare was known for his work as a carpenter, stone crafter, blacksmith and farmer. The annual reunion generally draws over 100 folks to Arnoldsburg Well-known Calhoun retired mail carrier Oda Carpenter of Florida, formerly of Mt.
