AUTHORITIES SEEKING METH LAB IN CALHOUN BACKWOODS

Calhoun authorities are processing a search warrant for an alleged clandestine meth lab in a backwoods area of the county and the State Police's decontamination unit has been summoned to the scene.

Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt and Sheriff Carl Ballengee are at the scene, which reportedly involves a parked camper located off a remote road.

Roane County authorities, including State Police and officers from the Roane County Sheriff's Department, made a traffic stop in Roane County about 12:30 a.m. today in Roane, a short distance from the Calhoun Line on US 33-119.

Officers reportedly discovered what appeared to be a mobile meth lab, which led to information regarding a meth operation in Calhoun.

At least three individuals were being held, pending charges.
