Dean Boone, 74 - Millstone

Dean Boone, 74, of Millstone, West Virginia, our beloved and respected Dad, went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2005.

Dad passed away at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center surrounded by family and friends.

He served as a police officer and Chief of Police for Glenville, WV before he retired as a security guard at Glenville State College after 14 years.

He was born March 31, 1931 at Braxton, WV a son of the late Chanity and Della Boone Stout.

He is survived by his loving wife, Norma, with whom he shared 54 years of memories; four children, Barbara Boggs, Joyce Riddle and Bill Boone of Glenville, and Dee Wilford of Millstone; six grandchildren, Henry Boggs, Jr. of Indiana, Jeremy Boggs of Ohio, Ashley Fox of Glenville, Amy and Miranda Riddle of Glenville, and Amber Wilford of Millstone; four great grandchildren, Heaven, Seth and Meadow Boggs and Emma Fox; three sons in law, Randy Riddle, Henry Boggs and Tom Wilford; sisters Lucy Putnam, Louise Boone and Annie Vizzo.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Neil Boone and sister, Madeline Putnam.

He will be greatly missed, but we will have precious memories of Dean Boone, our dad, your friend.

Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home on Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m. Pastor Cliff Sams will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Gilmer County.

Visitation will be held at the funeral Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
