MEDICARE'S NEW DRUG PLAN STARTING SOON - Enrollment Begins In November

(07/09/2005)
West Virginia residents, about 350,000 of them, eligible for the new Medicare prescription drug plan must become informed about the choices available, according to Nancy Atkins of the State Bureau of Medical Services.

The new drug coverage for seniors will become available in January, 2006.

There may be about 50 different companies seeking to sell their plan.

Confusion over the current Bush administrations stop-gap drug plan caused a limited number of WV seniors to enroll.

Medicaid will stop covering prescription drugs for about 50,000 West Virginians who are covered by both Medicare and Medicaid.

Prescription drug plans will be announced in early October.

Enrollment starts November 15th.
