The drawings of a proposed town hall for Grantsville are now on display in the town's office in the courthouse annex. The two-level structure is expected to cost about $270,000 and will be built on property currently owned by the town.

The old town hall has essentially been condemned, no longer in use.

Cerrone and Associates of Wheeling have developed the plan, which is about 1,200 feet of office space with a garage underneath.

The Town Hall Committee, which has raised $8,000, says the old hall will be demolished and removed.

The challenge for completion of the project, according to the committee, is obtaining local financing to use toward matching funds if needed.

The current lot, which includes the town's parking lot, was reported to be worth $160,000 by an appraiser, which means the entire town property with a new building could be worth $430,000.
