J. Eugene McKown, 61 - Arnoldsburg

J. Eugene McKown, 61, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, died July 5, 2005 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1943 at Minnora, Calhoun County, WV, a son of Lee J. and Marie Wallbrown McKown of Arnoldsburg. He worked as a pipeliner and timberman and enjoyed hunting. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Brenda Jones of Preston County; two sons, Shirley Roberts of Hawaii and Todd Roberts of Arnoldsburg; seven sisters, Frances Greathouse of Arnoldsburg, Patty Dickey of Nicut, Joyce Newell of Orma, Sherry Dalo of Canton, Ohio, Judy Shartiger of Shock, Donna Butler of Arnoldsburg, and Sandra Butler of Orma; five brothers, James, Eddie, Johnny, Jerry and Mike McKown, all of Arnoldsburg; six grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by one infant son, James Lee McKown and a brother, Danny McKown. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9th at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Roger Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Road Run Cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
