Claude Henry Moss - Seville, Ohio

Claude Henry Moss, went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 30th, 2005. He was born in Akron, OH on June 24, 1928 to Claude H. and Gladys (Jarvis) Moss. He moved to Seville at an early age and resided there the rest of his life. Claude was the loving husband of Ruth for 55 years, loyal son to Gladys, devoted father to Melinda and Martha and proud grandpa to Tiffany and David. Claude liked spending time with his family and friends. Together, they enjoyed traveling, camping, flying, motorcycles, snowmobiling, canoeing, euchre and many fun times around a campfire in the back yard. After retiring, Claude and Ruth were regular attendees to many Mt. Hope, Ohio activities.

Claude was an active member of the Seville First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for over 30 years. He retired after 37 years as a truck driver, employed at Kreider Trucking, OCO Transportation, B&L and Yellow Freight. He was a Teamster in Local 24. He was a member of the Seville, then Creston, Ohio Lions Club and Seville Historical Society. He was active in the Wadsworth CBMC (Christian Business Men's Committee).

Claude was preceded in death by his father, Claude Sr., stepfathers, Elmer Blake and Henry Bradstock and son-in-law, Darrell Pope.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Winkler), mother, Gladys (Jarvis), daughters, Melinda (Paul) Metheney of Charlotte, NC and Martha Pope,, her fiancé, Dan Stotts, grandchildren Tiffany and David Pope, of Creston, Ohio, sister Luain (Wilbur) Graff of Wadsworth, and nephews Paul Graff of Grand Rapids, MI and Kerry (Debbie) Graff of Nyack, NY, foster brother, Al Stuber (Betty) and his children, Melanie Edmonds, Cheryl Cole and Scott. His surviving brothers and sisters-in-laws are: Bertha (Harold) Zigler, Roy (Hazel) Winkler of Seville, Herman Winkler and Olga Landis of Sterling, Harry Winkler and Margaret (Max) Clegg of Sardis. Claude's dear friends include, Ron, Judy, Amy and Raymond Giauque, Frank Potts, John D. Miller and family and Ralph White of Big Otter, WV.

Family expresses sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Meadowview Care Center.

Visitation is Sunday, July 3rd, at Seville First Baptist Church from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.. Funeral is Monday, July 4th at 11:00 AM at Seville First Baptist Church.

Arrangements are handled by Waite-Armstrong in Seville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Organ Fund at the Seville First Baptist Church or Seville EMS. Interment, Mound Hill Cemetery, Seville, OH.
