SPENCER GETS $44,000 WATERLINE REPAIR GRANT

State Director Robert M. Steptoe, III, today announced that Rural Development approved a Water and Waste Disposal Grant of $44,000 for the City of Spencer, Roane County, WV. This funding is an Emergency Community Water Assistance Grant (ECWAG) used solely for emergency type projects.

Rural Development funds will be used to relocate a section of waterline and install approximately 1,000 linear feet of waterline to correct damage caused by extensive flooding.

"Recent landslides from flooding have caused damages resulting in water service interruptions to a portion of the City's 2,000 customers. This emergency-type grant should help rectify that problem," stated Steptoe.
