TWO BYSTANDERS SHOT IN CHARLESTON - Two people, apparently bystanders, were wounded during a shootout early Sunday in North Charleston, according to Charleston police.

Geneva Knox, 36, of Chesapeake and David Howell, 23, of Chesapeake were each shot in the leg following a disturbance in a parking lot.

The North Charleston address is the former Clo & Mahone's Lounge, where two men were shot to death in August 2004.

Also, two men were shot in the alley behind the building earlier this month.

WAYNE MAN CALLS 911 BEFORE SHOOTING - Charles Hunter, 68, of Wayne County wrote a note saying he was sorry.

He then fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.

Hunter told dispatchers "he'd shot his wife, his dog, and that he was going to shoot himself," according to Wayne County sheriff's Sergeant David Watts.

They found Hunter and 67-year-old Nina Hunter in their bed, and the dog, still live, lying between them.
