Edward R. "Eddie" Goodwin, Sr., 57 - Spencer

Edward R. "Eddie" Goodwin, Sr., 57, of Spencer, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at his home, after a sudden illness.

He was born September 13, 1947, at Amma, a son of the late Otto Benton and Elwanda June Justice Goodwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Edwin Coy Goodwin.

Eddie was an employee of the former Kellwood Corp., Spencer, a former mechanic at Carl E. Smith, Inc., Sandyville and an employee of Spencer Veneer, Spencer. He was a 1967 graduate of Spencer High School and was active in the Roane County Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society for eight years.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Alvis Goodwin of Spencer; one son, Edward R. "Jake" Goodwin, Jr. of Spencer; three sisters, Brenda Hall of Left Hand, Lynda Osborne and Judy Osborne both of Clendenin; one brother, David Goodwin of Left Hand.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, June 28 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. John W. Lowe and the Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. www.taylorfuneralhomeinc.com
