Firemen enter remote ridge road to fight brush fire
Burning a brush pile ignited a woods fire about 5:15 p.m. today above upper Pine Creek Road, a late brush fire for the season.
The fire had burned over a relatively small area.
Timber knocked down during the ice storm and during a timber operation provided kindling for the blaze.
The Grantsville VFD responded to the area, which is on old county road between Hur and the St. Paul Church, about two and one-half miles from Rt. 16 at Mt. Zion.
