(06/25/2005)

The Appalachian Classic Kids Races at the Calhoun County Park are fast approaching. They will be held Sunday morning at 10 a.m., the start time for these age appropriate, non-gender races.

The race classes are 6 and under (a marked loop on the golf course), 7 and 8 year olds (a few loops on the golf course), 9 and 10 year olds (field and walking trail), and the 11 and 12 year olds (field, walking trail and a bit of single-track). The race is open to all kids who will be 12 and under as of 12-31-2005, and is free!

The first 50 kids to register will receive a T-Shirt, and we have plenty of participation medals to go around. All participants MUST wear a helmet, but any kind of bike will do. For the younger set and the new riders, trikes and training wheels are even acceptable. So if your kid has wheels, bring them out to the park for fast peddling fun!

Simply fill out the registration form, and be at the Calhoun County Park by 9:30 a.m. to join in the fun. Parents must be sure to sign the form twice. Registration Forms will also be available at the race.
