MAN SENTENCED FOR VIOLATING PROBATION

Grantsville resident Michael Lee Smith plead guilty in Calhoun Circuit Court yesterday to one count of manufacturing a controlled substance. He will be sentenced in August. A Big Springs resident, Jesse Roberts, 20, was sentenced to Central Regional Jail for 30 days and given nine months of home confinement. Roberts had violated his probation, related to stolen goods. Jimmy Keener plead no contest to DUI-3rd offense. A plea agreement which would place Keener on home confinement is under review, a pre-sentence investigation. The state's sexual abuse case against Brandon Rose was continued until August. Several juvenile cases were presented yesterday to Judge Thomas Evans III.
