GRANTSVILLE'S MUNICIPAL ELECTION TUESDAY - Yatauro Is Write-in Candidate, Spencer's Election Slated June 14th

Grantsville's Municipal Election will be held tomorrow. Mayor Neil Blankenship is unopposed on the ballot, although Grantsville resident Michelle Yatauro is running for the slot as a write-in candidate.

Yatauro's name can be placed on the ballot by obtaining a sticker at the polling place, writing her name with an "X" beside the insertion, or her name can be written on the ballot near Blankenship's name with an "X".

The position of Recorder is contested, with incumbent Phyllis Maze and Roger Propst facing off.

Propst is a retired Calhoun County educator and former principal of Calhoun Middle-High School.

There are five candidates for council seats, with five candidates running, Wilbert Kerby, JoAnn Stevens, Charles Whipkey, Robert Gaylen Duskey and Cheryl Davis.

The positions are two year terms.

Spencer's longtime mayor Terry Williams is being challenged by Joellen Greenlee, with nine residents running for the five council seats, Cecil Banks, Sidney Boggs, Elsie Daugherty, Jim Harris, David Holland, Dick Parrill, Stephanie Poole, Don Williams and Ed Young.

Spencer's municipal election is June 14.
