SECOND MURDER IN ROANE COUNTY

By Bob Weaver State Police have yet to confirm a second murder in Roane County. Allegedly dead of one or more gunshot wounds is a male, whose body was discovered on Grannies Creek, a remote area between Amma and Newton, not far from I-79. A neighbor reported he heard gunshots coming from the old Fred Hall farm, saying that a body was discovered under a piece of tin. The State Police Crime Lab was on the scene not long after the incident occurred, sometime mid-afternoon today. Traffic was blocked on the rural road, near the crime scene. Early reports indicate authorities are looking for a woman, who was said to have fled the scene. Neighbors said a man and women were removing building materials from an old barn on the the property.
