HIT AND RUN DRIVER ESCAPES INTO WOODS

Authorities were looking for the driver of a car who fled into the woods at Calhoun Homes late Friday evening. Chief Deputy Ron Bandy had been in pursuit of the vehicle, which had reportedly been involved in damaging vehicles on Country Lanes. Local residents called 911 several times shortly before 11 p.m., reporting that a subject was driving a vehicle erratically. Sheriff Carl Ballengee and Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt also responded to the scene. While the vehicle was located, a search for the subject was continuing.
