WEST FORK WATER CAUSES LOCAL FLOODING

(05/21/2005)

A flood watch issued for Calhoun and the region raised area streams Friday morning, including the West Fork of the Little Kanawha. Shown above, the festival grounds at the Upper West Fork Park.

The Upper West Fork VFD moves their fire trucks to higher ground along Rt. 16 when the access bridge floods.

Several rural areas received local flooding, including Henry's Fork Road, which was covered by water in several places.

The Little Kanawha River is up, but not enough to cause local flooding.

The storm passed through the area quickly, with better weather predicted for the weekend.
