STATE POLICE HAS BUSY YEAR - "We Will Work Even Harder"

While Calhoun County has one of West Virginia's lowest crime rates, the local detachment had a busy 2000, according to Sgt. John Bonazzo, Grantsville Detachment Commander.

"We would like the public to know we are working hard to keep it that way," he said. "The Grantsville Detachment will work even harder to keep Calhoun County one of the safest in the state."

He is a list of their activity in 2000:

60 Felony rests 187 Misdemeanor arrests 47 DUI arrests 109 Misdemeanor citations issued 67 Accidents investigated 273 Criminal complaints investigated 800 Traffic citations issued 657 Traffic warnings issued 9 Stolen vehicles recovered ($81,800)

Approximately $240,924 in drugs and stolen property was recovered.
