THREE SENTENCED BY JUDGE NIBERT - Merola, Blake And Lamp, Eight Cases Bound-Over To September

Three Calhoun men were sentenced yesterday by Judge David Nibert in Calhoun Circuit Court, according to Prosecuting Attorney Matt Minney.

James "Little Joe" Merola was sentenced to six months home confinement, given a fine and required to pay restitution. He was charged and found guilty related to firing a weapon in a bar along State Route 5.

Eric Blake was placed on probation for an incident related to breaking into Johnson Tire Service and stealing. He was placed on probation, sentenced to 100 hours of community service, and required to attend AA meetings and pay restitution.

Keith Lamp was sentenced to the Anthony Center for six to 12 months, after which he is eligible for probation. Lamp was involved in the stealing of a soda machine from a Grantsville laundry.

A number of cases were bound-over to a September session of Circuit Court:

- State vs. Andrew Snider

- State vs. Walter Singleton

- State vs. Joseph McKinney

- State vs. Brian Burrows

- State vs. Shay A. Massey

- State vs. Jennifer Jones

- State vs. Steven J. Beecher

- State vs. Sara Beecher

Circuit Court will continue Friday with one felony case, Walter Wilson III, a motion for parole.

There are five juvenile cases scheduled.
