Norman F. Yoak - Grantsville

Norman F. Yoak, 74, of Grantsville, W.Va., passed away Friday, May 6, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after a three-year battle with cancer.

Born March 11, 1931, in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Elias and Ollie Kight Yoak. He was a 1949 graduate of Calhoun County High School. After serving two years in the U.S. Marine Corps, he moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he worked for 29 years at White-Westinghouse and 10 years at Techneglas before retiring and returning home in 1996.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Leona Yoak; his two sons, Greg and his wife, Jeni, and David and his wife, Melissa; his grandchildren, Andy, Beth and Amara; his brothers, Robert Yoak and his wife, Dolores, Billie Joe Yoak and Ray Yoak and his wife, Madeline; his sisters, Grace Richards, Evadeen Kesler and her husband, Gordon, Edna Robinson and Hazel Tingler and her husband, Ray; and many nieces and nephews, including his own personal nurse, Kaye Yoak.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with the Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Interment will be in the Maze Cemetery at Munday.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
