(04/30/2005)

Glenville State College presented its second main-stage production of the year on April 14 and 15.

"A Streetcar Named Desire" featured performances by Braxton County native Beth Ware as Blanche Dubois, Gilmer County resident Tom Hulse as Stanley Kowalski, Lewis County resident Leila Carter as Stella Kowalski and Clay County native Josh Ellison as Mitch.

Also delivering fine performances were Wirt County native Robyn Hathaway, Jake Miller, Aaron Radcliff, John Brown, Roger Burkowski and Cassie Davis.

Calhoun County native and Heartwood in the Hills alumna Valerie Henry played the Nurse and the Cajun Woman, as well as assisting Cassie with stage management.

The performance was well received and attended by nearly 400 people.

This year's activity marks GSC's return to producing plays.
