The Calhoun County Community Education Outreach Service organization (formerly Extension Homemakers) along with WV Extension Service had the second week of "Character Counts" during the after school "Heads Up" program at Pleasant Hill Elementary School on April 19.

The pillar discussed was "Respect". Thirty-eight children participated in the program.

Each child watched the "Character Counts" movie, the part on Respect with Barney, the purple dinosaur.

Diana Shook discussed the 'dos and don'ts' of respect. Marisha Swisher worked with the children on 'differences,' with a picture drawing.

Sandy McCumbers helped each child make Respectables to look through and find good character traits. Other Pleasant Hill CEOS helping were Jeanne Husk and Pat Radabaugh.

The next class will be on April 26, the topic will be Responsibility.
