LOWE FACES LIFE IN PRISON FOR MURDERING FLATWOODS MAN

A Kanawha County jury has found Keith William Lowe, 31, guilty of killing a Braxton County man and stuffing his body into a trash can. Lowe faces up to life in prison without the chance of parole. Lowe was charged with the first-degree murder of Braxton resident Roy Glen Loyd of Flatwoods. Officials said that Lowe's girlfriend, Misty Cabral, lured Loyd to a Jefferson motel, where she and Lowe robbed him and then bludgeoned him to death. Lowe then sealed his body in a garbage can, which was later found along the Kanawha River. Cabral pleaded guilty to robbery, and a murder charge has been dropped against her.
