WINTER'S LAST HURRAH

A classic battle between warm and cold air will make for a dramatic weather change in West Virginia.

The National Weather Service says the state will go from very mild conditions to stormy, cold conditions with snow.

The NWS says the colder air will push through the state Saturday and create cold rain and snow. "The ground is so warm we don't expect any kind of major problems."

It could be winter's last hurrah.

Saturday:

Occasional rain. Much cooler with highs around 50. Temperature falling to around 40 in the afternoon. West winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Saturday Night

Rain and snow showers in the evening, then snow and rain showers likely after midnight. Snow accumulation around an inch. Colder with lows in the mid 30s. West winds 10 to 20 mph.

Sunday:

Snow and rain showers likely in the morning, then rain showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

Sunday Night:

Rain showers likely with a chance of snow showers in the evening, then a chance of rain and snow showers after midnight. Lows in the mid 30s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.

Monday:

Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow showers in the morning. Highs around 60. Chance of snow 30 percent.
