CALHOUN MAN INJURED IN AIRPLANE CRASH

(04/19/2005)
Captain Rogers, 79, of Arnoldsburg and his pilot were injured Sunday when their plane collided with a parked plane at the Leon Airport in Putnam County.

Rogers was taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital by Mason County emergency services. A dispatcher reported he was in stable condition.

Roger's 2004 Sky Ranger struck a 1998 Flight Star airplane on the runway, according to the WV State Police.

Witnesses told the police the striking plane possibly experienced a mechanical malfunction, which caused the crash.

The Sky Ranger's pilot, David Groff, 60, of Scott Depot was airlifted to CAMC General Hospital. He was listed in satisfactory condition yesterday.

The Flight Star's pilot, Roger Boothe, 57, of Uneeda, was injured.
